WealthBriefing and SS&C Advent  are delighted to launch The Future for External Asset Managers in Switzerland - a Snapshot for 2018, this organisation’s third annual research project examining this sector’s development in the Alpine state.

Switzerland is among the most heterogeneous wealth management markets in the world, home to both the industry’s biggest names and a great number of smaller, niche players. With several thousand operating in the Alpine state, External Asset Managers are an especially well-developed sub-sector.

WealthBriefing has developed a real specialism in EAM research in recent years, examining their rapid emergence in Asia via two research reports produced in partnership with UBS, to follow two previous ones focused on Switzerland. We are delighted to have returned to asset management’s heartland with this new paper.

Key among its conclusions are that: “all-in” fees and greater performance transparency are coming in as retrocessions fade from view; technological agility is set to become one of EAMs’ greatest differentiators; and asset thresholds are shaping up to be a major fighting ground as custodian banks seek new ways to increase the profitability of EAM business.
